Athens is one of the cities which availed itself of the services of Bloomberg Associates, the free-to-use consultancy set up by Mayor Michael Bloomberg after he left elected public service. As part of the numerous initiative, the work of his group as spurred in Athens is an ambitious plan to revive the former printers quarter, once a bustling business area enjoying wholesale retail, interesting shops, and quality food options, but that is now somewhat run down. Initial efforts following the "lighter, quicker, cheaper" model led to many improvements in the area, leading to ambitious plans to permanently improve the services to the area. Bloomberg Associates hired TOWN SQUARE to research possible governance models and put forth a range of solutions that the people of Athens could embrace to reclaim their neighborhood.
